Kid Bloggers are Kid Programmers Now!

My sisters and I are in the 4th week/Chapter 4 of the Homeschool Programming Visual Basic Windows Programming program and we’re LOVING it!Homeschool Programming - Computer Courses for Kids & Teens!

We’ve never been video gamers, more: educational gamers…everything we do on Wii is educational for our bodies = Physical Education. Mama does NOT let us sit down or even stand in place when we use the Wii.

Anyways, we’ve ALWAYS wanted to learn how to code and when she found out about Homeschool Programming, we all got hooked! We have ALL of their programs to review. While I could have started with TeenCoder series, the founder Chris Yust recommended that we start with KidCoder so we learn all the basics, and I’m so happy he shared this recommendation because we’re all learning so much!

Enjoy this great video JoJo made to share her results from Chapter 3 of KidCoder Windows Programming . She programmed her own Windows buttons! She skyped the results to our Dad and he was impressed! Mama was impressed too. When she corrected JoJo’s Chapter 3 (which has 10-questions), she did not know anything, except the program we’re using: Windows Visual Basic. This is on the cover and title of this program so that wasn’t a hard question at all. ;-)

By the way, the tests are optional. The programming exercises alone assure that we’re learning, but taking notes while reading and taking the tests is good review for us all. Mama shares sample questions at the end of the video for you to see.

Anyways, we’ll be sharing our progress in the upcoming weeks.

Rather than PLAY games, why not learn how to program them yourselves?!

I REALLY want to finish everything NOW, but we’re doing SO much that we’re happy to just fit in at least 1-chapter a week which typically takes 2-3 hours. Sometimes it takes longer because we’re having so much fun. Mama always has to pull us off the computer for our next class or project.

We’re hosting an interview with the founder shortly, so if you have any questions for him, please comment below and we’ll make sure he answers them for you!

Note: We received these products for our review; but ALL opinions are our 100% our own.
